Welcome to FOSCA BioTech!
We are pioneering a disruptive concept in the fight against cancer.
Instead of targeting just a few molecules among the hundreds that are known to play a role in cancer, we use a unique technology to remove them all at the same time from the heart of the tumor.
What is cancer immunotherapy?
The last decade has seen the emergence of one of the most potent cancer treatment to date: immunotherapy. It works by injecting drugs that make the patient’s own immune system attack the cancer cells.
Despites stunning results, cancer immunotherapy still hasn’t reached its full potential and is only effective on a small fraction of cancer patients.
It also comes with the burden of frequent and severe side-effects.
A new way to perform cancer immunotherapy
Tumor cells hide from the immune system by releasing thousands of molecules in the fluid surrounding them.
These molecules are the targets of current immunotherapy drugs, but drugs can only deal with one target at a time.
Our concept is to physically remove ALL the molecules produced by the tumor, over a long period of time.
To do so we use a unique and patented needle technology that purges the tumor from all its bad molecules by flushing it with an isotonic solution. We do it continuously, and over a period of several weeks.
This strategy will achieve higher efficacy and little-to-no side effects, as no drugs are being used.
Our concept ressembles surgery: like surgery, we just remove the bad stuff.
But unlike surgery, we leave the cancer cells in place and only remove the molecules that they produce.
In this way, the immune system can recognize the tumor cells and mount a response against them, to prevent the cancer from coming back.
Our approach was successfully tested in advanced 3D tumor in vitro models and we are currently moving into the in vivo pre-clinical phase.
